Ms. Howe joins the team with over 25 years of experience as a coder, HIM coding manager, coding consultant, and performing medical record reviews and audits. Ms. Howe is proficient in coding for Inpatient, Outpatient, Emergency Department, Observation, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Specialty Hospitals.

Ms. Howe’s experience includes conducting both on-site and off-site reviews of coding practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines, validating MS-DRG and APC assignments to ensure appropriate reimbursement under Medicare’s Prospective Payment Systems, and identifying educational and documentation improvement opportunities during the review process.

Ms. Howe holds a degree in Medical Records Science from Ferris State College.  She is a member of American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), Minnesota Health Information Management Association (MNHIMA), and American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) the (St. Paul, MN chapter).

As a Senior Consultant for Health Revenue Assurance Associates, Inc., Ms. Howe is responsible for training, educating, and the auditing of patient records in a large variety of patient care settings across the healthcare continuum.
